CHAO Environment Protection Initiative:

Since our launch in 2016, we at CHAO have avoided single use plastic items in the delivery of our services and guest’s experiences thus have prevented over 10 tons of plastic to end in the environment.

From this November 2020, we are proud to be a signatory of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative led by the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation

As a signatory of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, we endorse the common vision to address the root causes of plastic pollution.

We commit to continue our effort in the elimination of the plastic items we don’t need; innovate so all plastics we do need are designed to be safely reused, recycled, or composted; and circulate everything we use to keep it in the economy and out of the environment.

CHAO commits to:

By 2020
To continue eliminating plastic packaging and items from our Rooms, Bathrooms, Food & Beverages and Events services.

By 2021
We will introduce reusable solutions in our cleaning services as well as identifying alternative for the containers of cleaning products and will seek alternative to cling film in food production.
